Access Control

The Access Control section provides centralized management for users, groups, roles, and organizational structure within Helix.

Business Domains

Organize APIs, events, and teams into logical business domains.

Key Features

  • Existing Business Domains: View and manage all domains

  • Search: Find domains by name

  • Domain Actions: View, Edit, Delete

Create Business Domain

  1. Display Name: User-visible name

  2. Business Domain Name*: Unique identifier

  3. Select Admin*: Assign domain administrator

  4. Description: Purpose and scope

  5. Click Create business domain or Cancel

Partners

Onboard and manage third-party partners for secure collaboration.

Key Features

  • Existing Partners: View all partner organizations

  • Search: Find partners by name

  • Partner Actions: View, Edit, Delete

Create Partner

  1. Partner Name*: Official organization name

  2. Display Name*: User-friendly name

  3. Business Domain*: Assign to domain

  4. Description: Partnership scope

  5. Click Create partner or Cancel

Groups

Group users to streamline permission management and collaboration.

Key Features

  • Existing Groups: View all groups within business domain

  • Search: Find groups by name

  • Group Actions: Manage Resources, Assign User, Edit, Delete

Create Group

  1. Group Name: Unique identifier

  2. Display Name: Descriptive name

  3. Business Area: Select domain

  4. Role: Assign permissions

  5. Description: Purpose and membership

  6. Click Create group or Cancel

Default Roles

Use built-in roles with pre-defined permissions.

Key Features

  • Existing Default Roles: View system roles (ADMIN, USER, GW-MANAGER)

  • Search: Find roles by name

  • Role Actions: Edit permissions, Delete

Create Default Role

  1. Role Name: (e.g., "API-Reviewer")

  2. Permissions: Select capabilities

  3. Description: Purpose and scope

  4. Click Create default role or Cancel

Custom Roles

Create tailored role-based access policies.

Key Features

  • Existing Custom Roles: View organization-specific roles

  • Search: Find roles by name

  • Role Actions: Edit permissions, Delete

Create Custom Role

  1. Role Name: Descriptive name

  2. Permissions: Select capabilities

  3. Description: Purpose and audience

  4. Click Create custom role or Cancel

Users

Add, update, and manage user accounts with secure access control.

Key Features

  • User Quota: Track capacity (e.g., Users Left: 9523/10000)

  • View Toggles: Switch between Registered User and Pending User lists

  • Search: Find users by name or email

  • User Management: Edit details or remove access

  • Pagination: Navigate large user lists

Invite Users

  1. First name: User's first name

  2. Last name: User's last name

  3. Email: Email address

  4. Groups: Select groups to join

  5. Click Send Invitation or Cancel
